Vote, Activist Film Series, Gaza, & March 15th peace rally

Voting is one of the fronts on which social justice activists engage to affect change in the community, nation and the world around us. Activist San Diego calls on the couple of thousand people who subscribe to this newsletter to do everything possible to put progressive agenda into the public discourse. VOTE, monitor the vote, get others to vote involved, phone bank or do whatever to participate. The coming 6 months will decide if we slide back or swing the pendulum forward full force.

The Activist Film Series begins again: Favela Rising, a compelling story of Brazilian resilience, was the first of ASD’s 2008 series. We are off to a wonderful start. The 1st Friday of every month we invite you to join us for stimulating cinema and discussion. Have ideas for films? Please call or email us: info@ActivistSanDiego.org

At the next ASD General meeting on Mon. February 11th we will show ”The Gaza Strip”. Come hear our Special Guest: Nasser Barghouti, President of the ADC. Note- new location – Joyce Beers. Also learn about March 15th - the 5th anniversary of the war. In San Diego we will have a march and peace rally in City Heights and connect how war for empire affects grassroots communities of working people. We invite you to canvas the neighborhood and take the peace movement to new constituencies. Call 619-528-8383 for info. And to get fliers to distribute.
