| BREAKING
NEWS: Senator John McCain, in a dramatic turnaround,
announced today that he would now advocate a negotiated
political settlement to end the 5 year old war in Iraq.
McCain's announcement came as Shite Militia overwhelmed
the Iraqi National Army, handing them a string of defeats
in Basra and threatening to end the ceasefire that had
made the US surge appear successful. Senator McCain,
the presidential hopeful, went on to speculate that
ending the Iraq occupation would be the fastest way
to diminish the threat of terrorism. "America can
not afford to extend its dreams of empire, while leaving
working Americans with debt, diminished rights and dilapidated
social services." In a moment of uncharacteristic
reflection and candor he admitted... "I've been
a POW, a Prisoner of (white) Priviledge; it's time for
the rest of the world to get treated as equals."
Please
join ASD at our monthly Activist Film Series on the
1st Friday, 7:30 pm and the ASD membership meeting on
the Second Monday at 7 pm - both at Joyce Beers Center.
We need activists to help end the war and restore sanity
- and that's no joke. April 1, 2008
