War on Democracy - get involved

Last Saturday Activist San Diego hosted an event with Terry Paupp, author of “Exodus from Empire”. We heard an incisive analysis of corporate and military power run amuck - as a political class has exerted its dominance over the world at the expense of the vast majority of humanity. The enthusiastic audience was also inspired by the discussion of a foreign policy based on peace, equality and non-exploitation. Terry’s book helps define what our long-range goals are in a new society based on social justice.

We continue this discussion this coming Friday at 7 pm with the showing of the film “War on Democracy”

Then on Monday, June 9th ASD’s General Meeting will creatively engage you in a dialogue about the “Obama Phenomena: Will it help or hinder the building of a social justice movement?” You will not want to miss this!

At that same meeting we want you to bring your thoughts about how to continue to challenge the right of Blackwater to “train” young recruits and law enforcement personnel after it broke the law in Iraq and New Orleans and tramples human rights everywhere it goes. Will we allow Blackwater to become entrenched on the border between the US and Mexico? Bring your ideas and energy.

Please go out and vote on June 3rd and get others to vote consciously, then join ASD and other social justice organizations in exercising democracy through grassroots action and public advocacy.
