HOLIDAYS IN THE HOLY LANDS?

While the holidays have many meanings to many people, for most of us the season is crowned by the joy of having quality time to spend with family and close friends. During the holidays charity and giving are celebrated.

This year our joy is tempered by the atrocities occurring in the Gaza Strip. Primitive rockets fired from Gaza by a few militants on Israel are a weak excuse for the massive collective punishment of the Palestinian people as a whole.

There has been no charity and giving to the people of Gaza as Israel has created a virtual ghetto with almost no access to medicine, fuel, food, or even water for crops and drinking. How can there be peace with these conditions? Palestinians have lived as caged animals behind massive walls, without even the right to fish off their own shores. Holidays in the Holy lands is horrific as US supplied F-16s and helicopter gunships fire on defenseless populations. US and Bush Administration complicity is indisputable. More Info.

Activist San Diego will be working with Palestinian organizations, with the progressive Jewish community, with human rights orgs and the peace and justice groups to call for and *EMERGENCY MOBILIZATION IN SOLIDARITY WITH GAZA. Please join us on Tues. Dec. 30th at 4:00 pm*. More Info.

Food for Thought

"The invasion of Iraq was a bandit act, an act of blatant state terrorism, demonstrating absolute contempt for the concept of international law"

-- Nobel Laureate Harold Pinter

~~~~~
Pay no attention to the handful of Christmas pardons granted by Bush. This is mere political window dressing to distract from the bumper crop of blanket absolutions, including one for himself, scheduled to be released just before midnight on Jan 19th. Cheney would not so arrogantly be bragging on TV about how he authorized torture if it were not so.
