From Gaza to the Economic Meltdown, the resistance must continue

END THE SIEGE IN GAZA: In San Diego hundreds of people have turned out in the last 12 days for vigils and rallies in solidarity with the people of Gaza, adding to the hundreds of thousands worldwide who have demonstrated for an end to the siege, the bombings and the occupation. Activist San Diego was invited to participate with a dozen other Palestinian, Middle Eastern and peace organizations, and today we founded the Coalition for Justice for Palestine. In addition to a demo on Tuesday and a scheduled teach-in this Thursday, please stay tuned for more information and events coming soon in support of the people of Gaza. If you would like to participate with ASD in support of the end of hostilities and ongoing solidarity work, contact us at info@ActivistSanDiego.org

ASD’s General Meeting this Monday at 7pm will focus on the economic meltdown and promises to be an important discussion. The economy is affecting people all around us, particularly as unemployment, continuing foreclosures and recession squeezes us all. Left-progressives do not know how we are going to be able step up to the challenges, but it is certain that we can only do so if we all work together. Attend and bring a friend!

ALL OUT for the Sat. Jan. 24th PEOPLE’S BALL; Not only is this a chance to party with progressives, but ASD is counting on this fundraiser to sustain us through the coming period. PLEASE, BUY TICKETS TODAY!

Food for Thought

Here it is: our moment of economic truth. We're standing at that historic fork in the road where the nation decides, now and for the foreseeable future, whether it's going to hang on to the catastrophic assumptions of the free-market fundamentalists and rely once more on the nostrums that have so far failed to fix the mess, or take a bold step down a new, more progressive path that will finally re-empower the American people to build an economy that works for us all.
