"Republicans are right. President Barack Obama
treated them like dirt, didn't give a damn what they
thought about his stimulus package, loaded it with a
bunch of programs that will last for years and will
never leave the budget, is giving away money disguised
as 'tax refunds,' and is sneaking in huge changes in
policy, from schools to health care, using the pretext
of an economic emergency."

| Support
the newly formed, *Coalition for Justice in Palestine
-- San Diego*
Last
Monday more than 100 of you attended an ASD co-sponsored
forum on Gaza and Palestine. Marjorie Cohen's presentation
delineated the war crimes in the conflict, especially
those of the Israeli military in its collective retribution
against the unarmed Gaza populous. She urged us to mobilize
against the massive US military aid, which supports
the aggression. Nasser Barghouti of the ADC presented
an analysis of the boycott movement against the apartheid
regime in South Africa and a proposal to launch a similar
boycott movement against Israeli goods. While efforts
are underway nationally and internationally to launch
a boycott, we were urged to pressure local stores in
San Diego to reject Israeli-made goods until the occupation
ends. We circulated petitions to inform merchants of
our goals. We'd like to count on your participation.
The
desperate plight of the Palestinian people, particularly
those locked in the Gaza strip, calls on all of us to
devote some time to pressure the Obama administration
to take a new course towards peace in the Middle East.
We encourage all who read this ASD newsletter to consider
supporting or participating in the newly formed, *Coalition
for Justice in Palestine -- San Diego*. This new coalition
is meeting twice a month on Sundays (next meeting on
Sun. Feb. 7^th @ 11am), but its meeting dates may change
in the near future. If you would like to be informed
about the meeting dates or support the work, please
contact ASD at info@ActivistSanDiego.org <mailto:
