In case you missed it, this is an excellent show on
how right wing radio & TV shock jocks-- people like
Bill O'Reilly, Lou Dobbs, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage,
Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Roger Hedgecock et. al.. provide
the smoking gun for violent incidents such as the Unitarian
church killings in Knoxville, and the recent massacres
in New York & Chicago. As the Rev. Chris Buice said,
these people are not only armed with guns, but also
with "bitteness, resentments, and indiscriminate
anger... armed in body and spirit."

| Earth
Day and ASD’s 10th Anniversary
Happy
Birthday Activist San Diego!
ASD
was officially launched on Earth Day 1999. ASD’s
simple proposition; the world, this country and our
region are crying out for social change and only grassroots
activism will create the groundswell to bring lasting
social justice. Engagement at the local level will not
happen without a conduit to provide information about
when, where and what groups are organizing.
ASD
set out in 1999 to be an information, communications
and mobilization hub in the border region. But now 10
years later ASD is only a 10th of what we should be
and a 1000th of what we will need to be. Yet we have
much to be proud of. Look what we have done in this
last decade: viewtopic.
Will your participation and donations
help us meet the challenges to come?
EARTH
DAY:
Contact
us (info@ActivistSanDiego.org)
if you want to help us on Earth Day at our booth as
we greet thousands. Earth Day can be a day to celebrate,
a day to rejoice the progress but also a day to realize
that as a planet, and as a species we are on a collision
course with environmental devastation.
As
James Lovelock, one of the twentieth century's most
influential scientist states, “the Four Horsemen
-- war, famine, pestilence and death…” will
be upon us and perhaps 6 billion people will perish
as a result of human impact. Read this Rolling
Stone article if you are not convinced
Please
join ASD at our next General Meeting on April 20th as
we discuss the political implications of medical marijuana
in San Diego and the legal prohibition of marijuana
that victimizes so many. More

| The
human race is doomed. "I wish I could be more hopeful...”
One of the most eminent scientists of our time says
that global warming is irreversible — and that
more than 6 billion people will perish by the end of
the century.

"Not
long ago, a group of skeptical Democratic senators met
at the White House with President Obama, his chief economic
adviser, Larry Summers, and Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner.
The six senators - most of them centrists, joined by
one left-leaning independent, Vermont's Bernie Sanders
- said that while they supported Obama, they were worried.
The financial reform policies the president was pursuing
were not going far enough, they told him, and the people
Obama was choosing as his regulators were not going
to change things fundamentally enough."
