ASD AT MONDAY’S GENERAL MEETING AND COCOA SOCIAL
T’is
the Season for Giving. Give the Gift of further Activism
We
are starved for information – real, truthful news
– not news entertainment.
Few
of us know what we are missing till we hear Amy Goodman
and programs like Democracy Now www.democracynow.org
about the Copenhagen Summit – check out last Thursday’s
broadcast and be amazed. ASD WANTS TO SOLVE THAT PROBLEM.
~~~~~
PROGRESSIVE
RADIO IS COMING TO SAN DIEGO!
STEP
ONE: FCC APPROVAL - It has been a long-held dream of
many activists in San Diego to have a community radio
station that broadcasts progressive news, information
and culture. Activist San Diego is proud to announce
that we have taken giant steps closer to reaching our
goal!! Pending Mexican approval, the US FCC will grant
ASD the right to build the 1st of 2 Progressive Radio
Station in East County with a potential listenership
of 500,000!
We
at Activist San Diego want to thank all of you who have
supported this effort. Imagine a genuine, grassroots,
community radio station with dozens of orgs on the air?
Can you think of a single other effort that would have
a greater effect on changing the social and political
landscape of San Diego?
~~~~~
STEP
TWO = YOUR FUNDING SUPPORT - We need funds for a grant
writer, technical support and a project organizer. In
total ASD will need $250,000 to get on the air. BUT
TODAY WE NEED JUST TO RAISE $5k-10k TO LAUNCH THE COMMUNITY
RADIO PROJECT. Please
Donate
We
have received enthusiastic responses from many of you
and many organizations.
So,
at this time, please look into your heart and your wallet
to see if you have enough to send Activist San Diego,
$10, $20, $50 or $100 dollars or more. WHATEVER YOU
DO SEND SOMETHING! ( or do you have a car to donate?
Even if you automatically send just $2 a month your
voice will be heard. Please Donate!
All
Donations are Tax Deductible. If you desire to make
a Pledge of Support ON LINE, your donation are automatically
sent to us on a monthly basis to assist ASD, to build
your Radio Station and to expand our mission; To build
a communications, information and mobilization hub for
San Diego’s Progressive Community. |

Price valued his workers over stockholders By Dean

“Tax
laws favor the wealthy, and the chasm between the middle
class and the wealthy is widening,” he argued
in 1995, complaining that the variety of tax breaks,
deductions and loopholes available to the upper class
constituted “food stamps for the rich” that
somehow didn’t receive the same scrutiny as government
programs for the poor or elderly, like Social Security
or Medicare.
