S./Cuba Diplomatic Relations" Join San Diego Friends of Cuba and Guest speaker: Ellen Bernstein from the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization (IFCO) Pastors for Peace from New York for a dialogue on US/Cuba Relations, Social Justice, The Latin America School of Medicine (which has allocated hundreds of medical scholarships to U.S. students from underserved communities), the Cuban 5 and the Friendship Caravan to Cuba this July. Emanuele Saccarelli and Cody Stephens, respectively faculty advisor and president of the ISSE, will give a presentation on the events in Haiti and their historical roots, followed by an open discussion. Join us at 6th and University for a protest action to spread the word about the Anti-Homosexuality Bill that has been introduced in Uganda. We will meet around 4:50 pm to bullhorn and wave signs and let the people know about this horrible legislation. This event is also running in conjucntion with Equality Across America's protest of the "Family's" ( a U. S.-led right wing group with more than 10,000 cells worldwide) National Prayer Breakfast. This will be the biggest statewide event planned to gather 100,000+ signatures to repeal Proposition 8 in a single day! It’s a hefty challenge, but it’s one that we are ready to take on.
