10/24: Juan Gonzalez of Democracy Now! with "News for All the People: The Epic Story of Race and the American Media" Book Launch

Juan Gonzalez of Democracy Now! and Joseph Torres of Free Press are proud to announce the launch of their new book, "News for All the People: The Epic Story of Race and the American Media."

Please save the date and join them on Monday, Oct. 24th at 7pm to discuss the media problem that’s at the core of our democratic crisis today.

The event will conclude with a book signing.

"News for All the People" reveals how racial segregation in the media has historically distorted news coverage. Juan and Joseph have unearthed numerous examples of publishers and broadcasters fomenting racial violence through their coverage. The book illuminates how Black, Latino, Asian and Native American journalists fought to create a vibrant alternative press, and then, beginning in the 1970s, forced open the doors of the major media companies.
