Penny Hess, Chair of the African People's Solidarity Committee

Penny Hess, Chairwoman for the African People's Solidarity Committee and author of "Overturning the Culture of Violence" will be speaking about the" Attack on the African Community". Sealli Moyenda, organizer for the International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement will discuss the scope of the Uhuru Movement, and Xavier McGregor, student activist from the African Revolutionary Student Organization of Lincoln High School will discuss student activism. We will also show a short video and do a call for fundraising for the programs of the African People's Socialist Party. We will also be doing a membership drive for Uhuru Solidarity and for the African-led InPDUM.

There will be food and entertainment. Donations from $5 to $25 are suggested ($10 (students) and $25 includes membership to Uhuru Solidarity Movement, and $35 includes membership to InPDUM). No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Based on the strategy and campaigns of the African People’s Socialist Party, the Uhuru Solidarity Movement organizes in the white communities. We call on white people to unite with our true human interest in recognizing that the struggle of African people for liberation and justice has a relationship to the fact that our lifestyle rests on a pedestal of African oppression. APSC organizes forums, demonstrations, studies and events to educate other white people about the true history of this country, founded on slavery and genocide, and what we can do to support the struggle of African people.
