CELEBRATE MLK by Building a Racial Justice/Police abuse movement in SD. ~ Jan. 19th @ 7pm

CELEBRATE MLK AFTER THE 4-MILE MARCH:
Bring your posters and banners, bring your friends who want to join the new civil rights movement, bring social justice out of the history books and breathe new life into today's movement.

CELEBRATE MLK WITH COMMITMENT:
Celebrate MLK Day with a discussion about how Martin Luther King's words and actions inform us about what our commitment to social and racial justice need to be in today's context.

THE POWER OF MLK'S WORDS:
Bring your favorite 30-90 second quote, then sing, recite, read it or perform it for those assembled (or just come and choose from quotes on the walls).

PANEL DISCUSSION AND DIALOGUE:
Join a presentation and round-table discussion about the current mobilizations and movement-building around police shootings, militarism and systemic abuse of power.
Speakers from Activist San Diego, United Against Police Terror - San Diego and other social justice organization

WHERE AND WHEN:
Meetings are free and take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Joyce Beers Community Center in Hillcrest (4065 Vermont St. San Diego, CA 92103). Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join us!
