Change of Venue: This EVENT will now be presented at The San Diego Friends Center
As a community, how do we embrace and practice nonviolence in today's political climate? The community is the solution, and San Diego Veterans For Peace is pleased to welcome long-time peace activist and nonviolence trainer, Elliott Adams, who will share his insight and skills in an evening of empowerment, as he gives us the tools we need to take responsibility for the safety of others, protecting our neighbors when bigotry and harassment collide.
Join us for a very important evening of Bystander Intervention Training, presented by Elliott Adams - former Army Paratrooper, Past National President of Veterans For Peace, and tireless crusader for peace and social justice around the world. Elliott has conducted in-depth training for the School of the Americas Watch, the War Resisters League and is currently co-chair of Creating a Culture of Peace (CCP), offering community-based training for generating nonviolent power.
Bystander Intervention has emerged as a popular and powerful strategy and Elliott will share an understanding of the roots of violence, discuss theory and the practice of communication skills, and will demonstrate proven methods to reduce violence in other people's conflicts, through role plays and quick decision exercises. The evening will conclude with a brief Q&A.
Co-sponsors include Activist San Diego and San Diego Peace Resource Center.
We look forward to seeing you Tuesday evening, March 28th, from 7:30-9:00pm. This EVENT will now be presented at The San Diego Friends Center, 3850 Westgate Pl. San Diego
