Professor Emeritus Guy McPherson coined the phrase, Abrupt Climate Change. The word “abrupt” is a simplified word to stand for both “exponential” and “dominated by self-reinforcing feedbacks.”

Powerful economic interests do not want the truth to get out. In the case of Prof. McPherson, while he was teaching in his specialty, conservation biology, his findings became of concern to certain outside parties. One of the top donors to the University of Arizona, the owner of an animal-agriculture business nearby, met with the University President and insisted Prof. McPherson cease speaking openly on topics of grave concern. The university responded quickly, prohibiting McPherson from teaching further in his field of expertise.

Years later, a former student from one of the classes, contacted McPherson, letting him know the CIA had placed him (the student) in the lecture room, with instructions to report out.

The title of his talk is, "Sometimes the Evidence is Right in Front of Our Eyes: Why the Deafening Silence About Abrupt Climate Change?”

Prof. McPherson's website is The website's title is "Nature Bats Last."

Attendees are encouraged to donate towards his continuing work. Contact Dwain Deets (760) 445-3242 or Ramona DeRyan (858) 337-3766 for information.
