Calling all UCSD undergraduates, graduates, faculty, and staff working for environmental justice, insurgent science, and indigenous resistance!

Join us for a special visit & dialogue from:

Members of indigenous communities from Chile and Argentina who are actively fighting for WATER and CULTURAL SURVIVAL to prevent ecological catastrophe by LITHIUM MINING in the Andean Highlands.

With a desperate demand for alternate “green” energy and efficient batteries to supplement this energy, lithium mining has become a lucrative venture and a basis for environmental injustice. The purpose of this series is to bring forth the voices of overlooked indigenous communities across hemispheres to tell their struggle to maintain their way of life and their fight against lithium mining companies and their respective governments.
