Since taking office, the Trump administration has taken a number of steps to reformulate the US approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including recognizing Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem and relocating the U.S. embassy there, and terminating aid to UNRWA, the organization which has long provided assistance to Palestinian refugees. Mouin Rabbani, a preeminent scholar and policy expert on Palestine-Israel and the Middle East, speaks on the status of Palestine in the Trump era. He will situate the current grim state of affairs in longstanding regional and global trends, and address Trump-era changes.

Mouin Rabbani is a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Palestine Studies, co-editor of Jadaliyya and contributing editor at Middle East Report. Among his past positions are political advisor to the UN Special Envoy on Syria and Senior Analyst with the International Crisis Group.

This event is funded by the Mann Endowment for Public Policy and Foreign Affairs and co-sponsored by Political Science and International Security and Conflict Resolution.
