This is a Peaceful March.

We all struggle to explain to our children what’s happening in the world with regard to race and justice. But how do we raise awareness of these issues in a community with a demographic like ours? Lack of diversity must not mean ignorance of issues. Through education comes awareness, through awareness comes enlightenment. Our children need our help to make theirs a better world. It must start in the home and also here in the schools of the Coronado Unified School District.

Sadly, many students of color in our school district have not had an experience in our schools that they deserve. The work to heal these wounds and mend relationships between students, teachers, and administrators takes work. And it will not be easy work. But we owe it to our students to make it a priority to do this.

WE INVITE CORONADO RESIDENTS TO Join us as we march to show our solidarity to make our schools a better place. Join us as we hear from students and parents of color. And join us as we hear how other schools in California are addressing racism and social injustice.
