The movement for LGBT rights has greatly expanded sexual freedom, but many challenges confront the struggle for equality. Socialists offer a Marxist analysis that links today’s struggle for equal rights to a future based on genuine liberation. Sherry Wolf is the author of the forthcoming book Sexuality and Socialism: History, Politics and Theory of Gay Liberation (Haymarket Books, 2009).
