Originally, this series was called Eat In Act Out week. Below you'll find information about the planned events this year. Saturday, the final day of our series, hosts two separate events, attend both or just the one that interests you. The first event will be a composting workshop held at the City Heights Farmers' Market at noon. The second event will be a true celebration of summer: our annual Tomato/Basil Festival! Nonviolent Communication Training in Oceanside10/09/2009 - 7:00pm 10/09/2009 - 10:00pm Compassion is an Inside Job with Certified Trainer Jeff Brown BLACKWATER TEACH-IN, 4/2, 2-4p Southwestern College04/02/2009 - 2:00pm 04/02/2009 - 6:00pm "Stop Blackwater" Presentation and Q&A describes the history of Blackwater, the successful campaign to stop it from developing 824 acres of pristine valley near Potrero in East County San Diego, and how they subsequently subverted public scrutiny by opening up the Otay Mesa Facility. Most recently, Blackwater has entered into an agreement with Southwestern College to use the Otay Mesa shooting range, initially in trade for the use of on-campus meeting rooms and compensation. Learn about Blackwater and decide if this is a good idea for the college.
